Mishka Shoes

I have always loved shoes — boots, wedges, gladiators, mules, sling backs, chunky heels, stilettos, kitten heels, platform, peep toe, pumps. Name it and I probably do have it in my shoe closet.

One of my favorites though would have to be the ballerina flats. It can take me from day — while prepping up on my events work either as an events host or coordinator, to night — while having coffee with friends or dinner with family.

If I Were

Brian and I, during one of our park dates at Sunken Garden, UP Diliman.

Hello March and hello everyone! I’m happy to be writing again. I’m greeting all of you and the first quarter of 2015 with superb positive energy and good karma!

To break in the silence in this little corner, I decided to ask my B to join me in documenting “ourselves”, who we are and what we feel on a per month basis with this cute form with a twist.

Read his February version here.

Here it goes, my If I Were – February Edition

If I were a month, I’d be November — solemn yet festive.
If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday — cool and relaxing.
If I were a time of day, I’d be brunch time — breakfast in the late morning? Yes please.

If I were a planet, I’d be Venus — named after Roman goddess of love and beauty, second brightest in the night sky after the moon.
If I were a sea animal, I’d be a swan — symbol of beauty, grace, power and fidelity.
If I were a direction, I’d be South — home is where your heart is.
If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a daybed — best for lounging, day or night.

If I were a liquid, I’m best served cold on the rocks — esp this summertime.
If I were a gemstone, I’d be diamond — unbreakable and will always remind me of “Bella”.
If I were a tree, I’d be a pine tree.

If I were a tool, I’d be a Swiss knife.
If I were a flower, I’d be a bougainvillea.
If I were a kind of weather, I’d be warm and sunny.
If I were a musical instrument, I’d be a guitar.
If I were a color, I’d be pale pink.

If I were an emotion, I’d be all about love.
If I were a fruit, I’d be a pineapple — can be tangy yet sweet.
If I were a sound, I’d be a beat of your heart.
If I were an element, I’d be fire.
If I were a vehicle, I’d be a red vintage convertible.

If I were a food, I’d be deliciously spicy.
If I were a place, I’d be a fine-looking white sand beach.
If I were a material, I’d be a doily.
If I were a taste, I’d be sweet and spicy.
If I were a scent, I’d be the smell of your favorite memory.

There you have it!! Re-reading my entry last 2010 was a fun way to remember how I felt before, and answering it in my state now and doing it as a fun couple’s activity is amusing.

You think it’s fun? Why don’t you try it and get to know yourself even better!

[BTS] Make-up + Engagement Styling: Rein & Peter Pre-nup Photo Shoot

I got thrilled when a friend of my B from work, Dewn – who is also a photographer, mentioned that he has a client who is looking for a makeup-artist. Another one of their friends, Ginel, was the one who contacted me on behalf of Rein, the bride-to-be. They originally wanted to shoot their pre-nup or engagement at Club Balai Isabel in Batangas but since I’ve stumbled upon a good venue rental for photo shoot from Jardin de Miramar in Antipolo, I’ve suggested that location since it’s also near Manila and they gladly took the suggestion.

Aside from booking me to do Rein’s flawless make-up, they also asked me if I can help them in styling the couple during their engagement shoot. Since they are referred by friends, I gladly took that extra task with no additional cost. *wink*

The bride-to-be agreed with the photographer to have a vintage feel of the concept. And since I’m one of the biggest fans of that theme, I told Rein to bring what’s needed to achieve the look and feel we want. Of course I would not forget to bring my own stash of accessories and props to put into good use.

While I was doing her make-up, I found out that this couple were already civilly married with one kid but the groom-to-be, Peter, still wants to keep his promise to Rein that they will get married in church. That’s the sweetest thing I’ve heard that day. It’s just too inspiring.

After Project Prettify and Glam-up, we went on location at UP Diliman Campus grounds to shoot the first two layouts.

Lunch was at Crazy Katsu in Maginhawa St. and it’s filling and delicious. Good enough to recharge our powers before the second half of the shoot at Antipolo.

That’s a wrap! Crazy group shots of the people behind-the-scenes of this engagement photo shoot. This one tops my list!

What a good way to wrap up a long day than with a milk tea in hand. *smiles*

I am as excited as ever to see the official photos once released by Dewn. I can’t wait!

Hotel Vida, The Home of Widus Vacation Club Part 1 of 2

Brian was invited to be the photographer for his friend’s mom’s 60th birthday in Pampanga for June 27th. Since it’s on the weekend, it’s more likely that I will be with him. We planned to go there a day earlier and have our post-monthly celebration. A hotel accommodation is a must since the main event falls on a Sunday. I barely knew any hotel in the area aside from the old villas for rent and old hotels.

Lucky enough while I was googling, I found a new hotel and vacation club right smack in the middle of Clark Freeport Zone.

Brian and I can probably join the next Amazing Race challenge since we’ve been practicing rushing and turbo-ing (our own lil term) each and every time we will go out. We love it like that. Kidding! We are just two slow-moving creatures and always rushing to make our way to whatever event on time (or at least we try to but mostly we are late). Just like today. We planned to hop on the bus for their 11am schedule but we needed to grab some stuff in the groceries first.

One of the bus lines that goes to Pampanga daily is Partas Bus Lines. After picking up some stuff, we went to their Aurora, Cubao terminal and got the 11:30am schedule. Phew! That was a lot of rushing this early morning. I told you we can totally join the Amazing Race!Show Content ofHotel Vida, The Home of Widus Vacation Club Part 1 of 2 /Read More
