Ever since college I’m drawn to the idea of pampering myself through retail therapy, having a manicure and pedicure or the best of them all — a full body massage. Although I haven’t read much about the health benefits it give, I know for a fact that after a rough day at work (or school), it helps relax the muscle tension esp on my shoulders and my whole mind, body and soul.

There can never be “too much spa” or “too much massage” in my world. I, personally, like most of us I think, live a very hectic lifestyle to say the least. An offer to have a spa massage is a welcome change in my very busy, fast-paced and highly stressful life. That’s where Soneva Spa comes in!

Tagaytay is dear to our hearts in many ways than one. We’ve been here countless times during boyfriend-girlfriend stage, and we even got married here!

It’s like a luxe yet easy escape to go to when you need a quick breather away from the heat of the city.

Last Holy Week we’ve planned to get away even just for a day or two. We thought of other places but ended up deciding to drive here which is relatively close from Manila. Ideally on a fine day, I enjoy the sight of fresh flowers blooming, offering a vibrant sight to behold. Here’s sharing the beautiful blooms that greeted us in this cool climate escape. I remember the first time I met B, he was just twenty-five, and this year — he’s celebrating his thirty-second birthday! Amazing seven years have passed and I am one happy woman to be celebrating his birthday again with me. I’d say I am not a good gift-giver and so I tend to lean towards throwing him a food feast as my little surprise gift. Don’t judge!

Last year, I prepared him some breakfast in bed and a dinner date. This year, well, he got a not-so-surprise birthday dinner at Oakroom.

Speaking of birthdays, I will never ever forget this beautiful birthday song that darling B played to me on one of my birthdays and it’s now part of our birthday’s little tradition…

Sunday Market

Part of my ideal lifestyle is leisurely strolling around weekend market on Sunday mornings. One Sunday that’s exactly what we did. Of all the weekend markets in the Metro, I’ve been curious with Legaspi Sunday Market. Artwork, handicrafts alongside organic food, fresh produce, local and some international cuisine and to-go fare are what makes this Sunday Market a visual feast. Don’t leave without checking the stalls selling baklava, authentic cow leather bags, Himalayan Sea Salt and Batik.

Authentic House of Curry. Assortment of curry dishes where we ordered our brunch. Spicy meal to start our hot Sunday morning.

Double Dinner Dessert Date

As far as I can remember, I have always had this ideal lifestyle in mind — a lifestyle that allows me and my body to still have time and energy right after work to meet up with friends, go on a dinner date, just watch a movie or anything that feels indulgently good for my body and soul. Isn’t this what everybody needs? Luckily, this “ideal lifestyle” which I only dreamed of living is slowly manifesting in my reality right now. Thank heavens!

Chatting with friends can truly melt the stress away! Here with my good friend, Clang.

And so when a good friend invited us out on a double date one weekday, I just couldn’t say no. Our neighborhood is close to UP Town Center and since we haven’t visited yet, this is the perfect time to scout what’s in store and to have a relaxing dinner and dessert.

Dinner was at Salusalo The Filipino Feast, they have good interiors and delicious food but no photos as we were devouring their Bulalo! And who can resist desserts?! I’ve just got to try Vanilla Cupcake Bakery even if only for their charmingly sweet interiors!
