Letter to My Brian Love | 22 September 2015

Dear my B,

With your actions and aspirations now, I have no doubt in my heart that you would be a better father to our son more than our ideals. I will instill to our son how much you love him and how much we adore and love you back.

Yours, Jaycelle

Diary Entry | 21 September 2015

Today around 630am, I woke up abruptly to a major leg cramp (left)! I didn’t realize I alarmed B by shouting “Ang sakit nag leg cramps ako!!!” plus grabbed his shirt to wake him up. He jumped off the bed to my rescue and massaged my leg with his eyes half-opened. Poor B. Good thing he didn’t have a heart attack.

Pregnancy Diary: 27 Weeks and 4 Days (September 13)

Diary Entry | 9 September 2015

During my CAS (Congenital Anomaly Scan).

I was a bit nervous before taking this CAS. Although we’re confident that we took precautionary measures and we really took extra care of our pregnancy from first trimester until now, you wouldn’t be able to shoo away the worries as first time mom and parents.

While laying down on one of the rooms with a TV monitor in front of me, I patiently waited for the OB Sonologist. To lighten the mood and ease my worry, I chatted with her as she sat down on her “throne”. Our conversation led for her to share that the mommy before me have a lot of abnormalities in her baby! That was really a frightening news. Suddenly I felt more nervous as she scan every little detail in my baby’s body. She measured and checked everything from head, to eyes, nose and lips, to the beating heart, lungs and kidney, spine, legs, number of toes and fingers. Gratefully, baby’s normal. I felt extremely relieved.

After the nitty gritty part of the scan, husband was called to join in for the gender determination. Gender reveal to follow soon! *grin*

Diary Entry | 12 September 2015

Since I had my OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test) and CAS(Congenital Anomaly Scan) medical tests last September 9, we consulted our OB in reading the results. I don’t have gestational diabetes and everything’s perfectly normal with baby!!! We’re so happy!

I also consulted Doc in regards my jock itch which has been bothering me for about a week. She checked and recommended me to use hypoallergenic feminine wash like Gynepro and to stick to panty liner that works for me. She also noted that my discharge looks perfectly normal so no need to worry about infection.

Doc also asked me to start monitoring baby’s kicks. He should kick or move a minimum of 8-count after a meal until it’s 2nd hour. I can monitor either after breakfast, lunch or dinner. If baby’s able to achieve his quota, then all is fine. If I notice a decrease in baby’s movement, I should go straight to any hospital delivery room to be assessed. But of course I pray that baby’s able to kick more than required not just after one meal but after every meal.

baby’s size:

Charlotte Royale cake

my mood:

Happy happy happy! We already know baby’s gender, although we chose to have a little gender reveal photo shoot to make the announcement more memorable. Extremely happy too that all is well for momma and baby. We pray that we continue to be healthy and happy until delivery day!

my symptoms:

Pelvic girdle pain. Baby is growing and putting on more weight, and my body could not keep up with my extra weight and baby’s.

White discharge / Vaginal irritation. It’s like a symptom that keeps coming back. Moisture down there cannot really be prevented so I need to be extra cautious in taking care of myself. I will try the feminine wash that my OB recommended.

Tender breasts. So this is how it feels when you have big boobs..

Swelling.

Abdominal itchiness. I have been amassing pimples on my belly. And they are itchy!

Back pain. Lower back is the most victim of this symptom!

Heartburn.

Fatigue.

Shortness of breath.

Excessive sweating. Can an air-con follow me around?

Clumsiness. I should be holding on railings otherwise I might be rolling on the floor!

Dream Journal | 8 September 2015

I dreamt that I was holding my baby, but when I looked at him, he looks pale so I panicked! I ran back to the room and pressed my left breast and a yellowish white milk dropped on his lips and suddenly he came back to life! His skin regained it’s healthy glow.

Next scene: He was wearing a red shirt sans shorts. I was teaching him to mimic Daddy B sitting on a ledge or something in the bathroom so I can wash his bum (pwet)! Hahahaha. It was cute watching him how he looks at his daddy and copying the way daddy sat down. I was also trying to clean his mouth off of his poop (tachi)! Hahahaha. That was the end of my dream.

Do kids really like to eat their tachi? Or maybe they’re curious. And yes, in my dream, my baby is a boy. *smiles*

Diary Entry | 8 September 2015

Daddy B said that baby kicks at him in the early morning while I was still asleep. They have been bonding and playing for 3 days now, while I was sleeping. It melts my heart. *smiles*

baby’s size:

Boule de pain

my mood:

Excited because it’s the start of my third trimester! Although I heard that this is the most  painful and uncomfortable phase in pregnancy. I’m also gaining weight although I know that I have been eating the same way as I did in the past couple of months.

my symptoms:

Pelvic girdle pain. This I believe is because of my baby growing and putting on more weight, and my body could not keep up with my extra weight and baby’s.

Cravings / Appetite increase. So my appetite spike back up again. I’ve been trying so hard though to stay away from sweets.

Tender breasts.

Swelling.

Flatulence. Gas, and more gas.

Abdominal itchiness. I have been amassing pimples on my belly. And they are itchy!

White discharge.

Fatigue. Compared to my second trimester where I managed to navigate and practice my cooking in the kitchen, now I always feel exhausted – much like during my first trimester. I think it’s a cycle.

Back pain. I can’t sleep on my back anymore. It feels like my spine is going to break!

Pregnancy Diary: 25 Weeks and 6 Days (September 1)

Diary entry dated 27 August 2015.

I cried. I was worried that something bad happened to B after he stopped messaging me for more than an hour. Apparently he woke up in time for his conference but he fell asleep again for more than an hour! That’s why he stopped messaging me. Plus, Globe lines cut his phone line that’s why when I called, it was off! The Golden Gate hotel reception did not open on time too (730am) so I got the voice recording! All the right ingredients to make a “worrisome Jaycelle” recipe!

Good thing a little past 730am, there’s an available receptionist and I was able to call B through his room phone number! Whew! I hate being paranoid and worrisome. I’m just glad B is safe and just feel sleepy because of the cool weather in San Francisco. Thank God. Please continue to protect my B and my baby in my belly.

baby’s size:

Tarte Tatin

my mood:

Paranoid, anxious, worrisome.

my symptoms:

Pelvic girdle pain. It really hurts my left lower back and buttocks!

Tender breasts.

Swelling.

Flatulence. Happens anytime, anywhere.

Restless leg syndrome. It’s tingling in the legs. In tagalog it’s called “ngalay“.

Sciatica. It’s a pain that starts from my lower back to my lower body. I’m just grateful I rarely experience this.

Pregnancy Diary: 24 Weeks

Pregnancy Diary: 24 Weeks (August 19)

August 20. It’s 1:25am. I just finished my shower and I’m now in bed beside my B. He’s sleeping. He’s too tired from all the tasks he needed to do for office work, carwash business, my personal requests like photo editing of my baby bump photo shoots, and his personal tasks in preparation for his trip. He’s been busy for weeks now! I feel like crying because in a few hours this morning, he will drive me home to mom. I will stay there while he is out of the country — San Francisco USA, for his UX conference. We’ve never been apart since 2009. I don’t know how to handle this feeling of loneliness being apart anymore. Insert tears here because they already fell as I type this. I’m paranoid. There’s a storm or typhoon and I’m worried something bad might happen. I’m usually like that. But I feel like it doubled now that I’m pregnant, and since because we are never apart for this long. I pray to God and all the saints to keep my B safe going there and until he comes back to us.

baby’s size:

Demi-baguette

my mood:

Feeling happy, in love, loving, yet worried and anxious.

my symptoms:

Headaches. Still troubling me from time to time. And I still haven’t give into taking meds of any kind. A little more sacrifice for our baby’s health.

Tender Breasts. I feel this pain whenever I woke up from sleep. It feels like they’ve been squashed while I was sleeping.

Leg Cramps. I’ve been stretching and keeping myself well-hydrated but I still get this.

Swelling. No shoes can fit anymore!

Pelvic Girdle Pain. One-sided pain on my left lower back all the way to my buttocks.
