Hooray Thursday: Smile!

Post Content

Is it just me or the time is really flying by so fast? It’s Hooray Thursday once again! How was your week so far? I wish it has been a creative, productive, pleasurable and fantastic week just like mine.

As they say, Laughter is the best medicine. Humor is contagious. When you share laughter, it binds you closer together and increases happiness and intimacy. In addition to the domino effect of joy and amusement, laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body.

Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert.

Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.

One of my ways to inspire joy in my day to day existence is to look at photographs that give a little serving of smile and amusement.

{ Memory book / scrapbook — however you call it, I’m struggling to finish mine. It would be lovely! }

We are what we eat. Choose healthy!

Since I’m on a mission to have a healthier body (and a slimmer waist line) through exercise, we must not forget that it also entail the need of watching what I eat. That means my quest involves eating healthy, too.

B and I set to have a midweek little date (so as not to miss each other too much) to de-stress and catch up. After meeting for a super secret thingy last night, I dropped by his new office for the first time (few steps away from super secret thingy – hooray!) and head to the mall for dinner.

He chose Kenny Rogers Roasters. At first I thought I would eat rice again but boy was I glad that their healthy meals caught my attention.

I was still feeling jittery and amused and I couldn’t make my mind to decide on what to eat so I settled with their delicious looking sandwich which they call the ‘Light & Easy’ meal.

Light and easy, indeed. Delicious, simple meal that satisfied my hunger but didn’t make me so full that I couldn’t manage to move around. It’s just the perfect dinner for me right now.

I must agree with The Kenny Promise – “always deliciously healthy.”

What’s your favorite healthy recipe? I would love to try it too!

The Biggest Loser

Most of you probably have been introduced to my love affair with delicious, sumptuous and delectable food. I go through old favorites and discover new places and possible new favorites to be added on my list. Without a doubt, one can tell that I love to eat.

In search of that yummy dessert or that satisfying meal, I have also found a difference in my body, hence, the increase on my weight and size. I wouldn’t have minded it until I couldn’t fit in my pants anymore. This led me to a challenge I wanted to take on – The Biggest Loser challenge.

As you all know, The Biggest Loser is a TV show which centers on overweight contestants attempting to lose weight for a cash prize. There are different variations of this around the world. And our company has made its own adaptation of the show; however, the contestants always have the same goal: to lose the highest percentage of weight to become the Biggest Loser.

I know I am still not overweight but I want to shave a couple of inches off my belly! I may even be underweight based on some site where I calculated my “ideal weight” based on my height and weight! This confuses me.

Boxing and running have been part of my exercise routine but somewhere along the way I lost my interest in it — that or I’m just probably being a lazy a** chick! This, plus my fondness for food are the reasons why I am putting on some extra weight. And now, I feel it’s time to change my bad habit of eating and eating without exercising.
