We recently went on a quick beach getaway, and it’s a first for my baby! We let him play under the sun, in the sand and at the beach. He loved it! We can’t pull him off from the water that easily.
I got a little worried that too much beach water and sun exposure will dry up my baby’s skin. Not to mention that damaged skin makes it more prone to dryness, scratches, even more damage, and even infection or irritation.
But I have just about the right products to ensure immediate skin restoration.
Johnson & Johnson’s now has new products that promise effective yet gentle cleaning of the skin while retaining moisture – Johnson’s Milk & Oats Baby Bath and Lotion. Both products have the nourishing power of Milk and Restoring Oats which help bring back moisture to sun-drained skin.
They came in handy in time for our beach trip. Now we’re ready for bath time!!!
Confession time. At first I intended to let my #LittleAdamBryce to try Johnson’s Milk+Oats Bath and Lotion first, but upon smelling the lotion, I just had to try them both for myself first! Now, they’re part of my multi-purpose products list as they could work for both me and my little boy.
Suitability for both baby and adult: ❤❤❤❤❤
Overall Experience: ❤❤❤❤❤
JOHNSON’S® Milk+Oats™ Lotion
We first tried the lotion. I’m in love with the scent! It smells like a mild powder, sweet scent. I’m confident that my baby won’t get fragrance allergies since it does not overpower my sense of smell.
It has a light creamy consistency which easily dissolves and absorbs by the skin. It’s like a water-based lotion, which we prefer in our household recently since we don’t have time for drying up time from thick sticky lotion. This one is not thick nor sticky at all. As soon as the skin absorbed it, it does not feel like we’re wearing any lotion at all.
It did a great job of moisturizing our dry skin. For my baby, it sealed in the moisture after his bath. His skin was immediately supple, smooth, baby-smelling and healthy skin!
As for me, it rescued my hands since I love washing with my old-time favorite bar soap few hundred times in a day. You know the feeling when your hands are all dried up and stripped off of moisture? It feels like it’s going to crack any time soon, and the skin feels too tight. That happens to me a lot. Unlike other lotions I’ve tried which only coats the first layer of skin, only leaves a sticky feel and unable to moisturize up to skin-deep, this lotion is different.
It penetrates into the deep layer of skin to nourish and moisturize, in an instant. It truly starts immediate skin restoration.
JOHNSON’S® Milk+Oats™ Bath
It has the same mild powdery scent as the lotion.
This has a runny creamy consistency. I worked up a lather on the palm of my hands (I don’t usually use washcloth for bathing my baby), and started massaging his body with this body wash. I can feel the dirt dissolving into my hands. It’s mild and gentle cleanser, and does not feel like it’s stripping off my baby’s skin moisture. It actually feels rich in nourishing and moisturizing his skin. A little product goes a long way, and is easy to rinse off.
My baby sometimes easily shift moods – from enjoying his bath to immediately wanting to finish his bath. It’s a horror when there’s still shampoo or body wash on him. That’s why easy to rinse-off products is very important for us.
The result after using this even on the first wash – baby soft, smooth, and healthy skin. The mild scent lingers too. It’s suitable for both my baby and myself. We love multi-purpose products!
We love Johnson’s Milk+Oats Bath and Lotion!
In a month’s time, #LittleAdamBryce will turn a year old! And even if there are so many developments and progress, more beach time and bath time, he will always be #StillMyBaby.

When you are a stay-at-home, hands-on, first-time mom to a Velcro baby, you probably get me. Your arms ache from holding him day and night. You adjusted sleeping with a 10-kilo weight on your chest where your baby sleeps. You miss preparing and eating an actual meal with both of your hands. You know no luxury of deciding what to do on nap time — he needs to stick to you in order to sleep. When he sleeps, you can’t move. You probably have your work on your smartphone, the only thing you can manage to operate single-handedly while pinned down on bed. I’m writing this lying in bed, cradling and nursing my son.
Constant need to nurse, want to be carried, sticks like a glue, light-sleeper, demanding, highly sensitive — these will probably spread yourself too thin, to the point of breakage.
I call it melt-down. I didn’t keep tabs how many times I snapped and broke down, feeling drained. But tomorrow’s another day for motherhood.
Some nights I can’t even brush my teeth, more so to shower. So when I do get my elusive break…
…here’s how I re-center myself and elevate my me-time and make it more special.
In the morning
Ideally in the morning, I jot down my random, scattered thoughts and ideas on a piece of pretty paper and gold-inked pen. It’s an incredibly effective way to release the noise in my head, and organize my thoughts. I feel calm when I can clearly read what I need to achieve. There’s a magical, fulfilling feeling when I’m able to tick off items on my to-do list.
In the afternoon
Probably my most fancy me-time is sipping a hot cup of mother’s milk tea with a book on hand. Currently on my reading-list is The Nesting Place. It’s teaching me that “someday” is now. Creating a beautiful home now, wherever we are.
At late night
Recently my son is forming a sleeping routine. By nine, he doze off while sleep-feeding. He sleeps lightly with a few tossing and turning, before finally having a deep sleep. That’s around eleven at night. When I successfully avoided to sleep myself, I sneak out of the room and into the bathroom.
Yellow lights and warm water puts me in a calm, relaxed mood. I elevate my routine and add a skin conditioner after my body wash or body soap. I’m currently using Nivea In-Shower Skin Conditioner. It’s creamy lotion formula activates as it interacts with water. It feels luxurious for me like treating myself to a body oil and body lotion in one. I use this quiet time as a therapeutic treatment to soothe my aching body and anxious mind.
How about you ladies, what do you incorporate to elevate your daily routine and to keep sane?
