Swoon: Collections by Jaycelle

Post Content

Just very recently I have rediscovered my passion for designing fashion accessories. I’ve always loved laces, golds and everything dainty and decided that my first collection should exude that same aura. While creating my first batch of accessories, a fun word that me and my B used a lot in the past to make ourselves roar in laughter popped — Swoon. (If you only knew how B used to mock me by uttering this word in a girly and flirty fashion not to mention his acting and hand gestures — “I d-i-e. S-w-o-o-n!” you will die in laughter too. Promise!

Swoon ‘swün; verb – to become enraptured <swooning with joy>

Green Tea Goodness

BonTea Jasmine Green Tea

Losing weight or should I say maintaining weight is somewhat a thing of the past. I fondly remember how my passion for eating never gave me an issue of a bulging belly or flabby arms, even if my only exercise was lifting the TV remote control to change channel. Thanks to fast metabolism when I was much younger. Needless to say, I’ve grown a few years and gained a few extra pounds.

I recall reading articles about green tea and the many health benefits that it offers but I am more inclined in reaping off the benefits of losing weight. Aside from being 200 times more powerful than vitamin E at destroying skin-damaging free radicals which reacts with healthy cells in the body causing damage, it’s said to contain an active ingredient known as epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG for short.

It targets belly fat. It was said that EGCG in green tea, like other catechins, activate fat-burning genes in the abdomen to speed weight loss by 77 percent!

Since I struggle maintaining my weight lately, I’m giving it a try. I have been drinking green tea for a couple of days now and I can’t wait to affirm that it is indeed effective.

In fact, an office friend noticed that I’ve lost some weight… And I like the sound of it! Guess I’ll continue to enjoy my cuppa tea until I see that promising result.

Opportunities and Surprises

“Opportunity knocks at the strangest times, It’s not the time that matters but how you answer the door.” Steve Gray

I was presented with an opportunity to do something that I enjoy to do leisurely, as a job. Guess I’ve been playing safe in my life a whole lot that’s why behind the gleeful excitement lies the questions like “Is this really happening? Is this a good thing, a refreshing change? Can I handle it?” etc etc.

Then again, as the saying goes “The key to good decision making is not knowledge. It’s whether our work fulfills us.” by Malcolm Gladwell, I know there has NEVER been a good time to say YES to opportunity than NOW. For now I take it one day at a time and just patiently wait for Life to unfold it’s beautiful plans before my eyes. *hopeful smiles*

And as if getting a compliment from my boss saying he visited this blog and saw how passionate I am with what I’m doing (enough to offer me to write for commercial use!) is not enough… I received this pretty little gift box from my darling B!

Look how pretty that little jewelry box is?

What opportunities did you welcome with your arms wide open? What opportunities did you fail to acknowledge? How is it working out for you? Have you been genuinely surprised lately? I’d love to know. xx
