Chefs’ Quarter: Fine dining on a budget?

Post Content

August 20, 2010

Two veterans in the food business have decided there is no reason why fine dining should be the privilege of a select few.

Larry Cortez and chef Mauro Arjona Jr., pioneers of Le Soufflé, who worked with Billy King to setup Voulez Vous now French Corner in Alabang, and the pair behind Duo at Serendra that draws the likes of the Madame, Imelda Romualdez Marcos, found the right spot for their “total innovation of fine-dining cuisine”- Chefs’ Quarter.

Another food discovery in SM Megamall Atrium is Chefs’ Quarter which we’ve been eying for some time now. We dig the concept of having the elegance of fine dining within a mall.

{ they’ve got a huge space inside their branch in Atrium }

His: Tessie Tomas Salad Php295. Combination of roasted prawns, marinated salmon and grilled shiitake mushrooms with mesclun salad in a creamy balsamic dressing.

A mainstay on the menu and definitely an attention-grabber named after the Imeldific’s occasional alter ego. And my B always just got to try the best-seller. *wink*

His: Poele Lamb Spareribs Php395, in cilantro – curry sauce with mushrooms and vegetable risotto.

Dear Lulu,

Just keep your Heart open. You may think that because of what has happened in the past that it will continue to happen now and in the future. But that is a falsehood.

Meet today, meet this moment with a new perspective. Stay with the uncomfortable feelings, respond with love instead of reacting from fear. You can choose to paint a new future with an adjustment in your attitude right now.

If you love someone, love them without stopping your life or expecting anything from them. If you miss someone, allow yourself to EXPERIENCE that emotion. Instead of trying to change anything just be open. Right here, right now.

If you shut down you let fear win. Let love in today. Be brand new right now.

Yours,
Your heart
