Double Dinner Dessert Date

Post Content

As far as I can remember, I have always had this ideal lifestyle in mind — a lifestyle that allows me and my body to still have time and energy right after work to meet up with friends, go on a dinner date, just watch a movie or anything that feels indulgently good for my body and soul. Isn’t this what everybody needs? Luckily, this “ideal lifestyle” which I only dreamed of living is slowly manifesting in my reality right now. Thank heavens!

Chatting with friends can truly melt the stress away! Here with my good friend, Clang.

And so when a good friend invited us out on a double date one weekday, I just couldn’t say no. Our neighborhood is close to UP Town Center and since we haven’t visited yet, this is the perfect time to scout what’s in store and to have a relaxing dinner and dessert.

Dinner was at Salusalo The Filipino Feast, they have good interiors and delicious food but no photos as we were devouring their Bulalo! And who can resist desserts?! I’ve just got to try Vanilla Cupcake Bakery even if only for their charmingly sweet interiors!

Secret Formula for Happiness

It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy. Lucille Ball

Over the years, I’ve been trying each day to identify what makes me happy. Every day I am learning that in life, you have to find the beauty in everything, even the darkness around you. You’ve got to be able to see the silver linings in every situation. Being grateful for the good and the bad in your life is good for the soul. In turn, I find that my happiness lies in the simplest of things —

..cool breeze against the warm sun rays on my skin, beautiful summer blooms, quiet time to relax and reflect, afternoon at the park..

Valentine’s Day Activities

Dancing by the Pool

February has become a season of love or as I fondly call it, the love month.

We are not too big on celebrating Valentine’s since we got together apart from the usual quirky bonding dates we’ve done in the past (like here, here and here). It’s going to be different this year though, as we are celebrating as a newly wedded couple, and I wanted to give in to all the mushy and overly sweet acts of love as I can.

If you are like me who is planning an activity with your special someone, here’s a few ideas that I’ve been toying with:

  1. Plan a Valentine-themed picnic. Dine under the stars at your favorite park. Pack a meal for two. Heart-shaped donuts. Cupid’s arrow cookies. Throw in some blanket, a book of poetry and your mushy spirit and indulge in an evening of saccharine poems as you read verses to each other.
  2. Eat your heart out. Any occasion calls for a feast, Valentine’s is one of those. They say the fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and this is quite true for women, too. You may choose to stay at home and cook a special dinner or if you’re feeling indulgent, make reservations at a magnificent hotel or restaurant that are offering intimate romantic dinner experience.
  3. Spend a night of mystique and romance. Turn your bedroom into a romantic oasis. Create a magical cocoon around your bed with a fairy light canopy using sheer fabrics and glittering holiday lights! Whether you choose to celebrate love in luxury or in simplicity, the most important is to show your beloved how much you truly care.

How do you plan to celebrate your Valentine’s? I’d love to know! Nonetheless…

Have a happy and memorable Valentine’s everyone!!!
