Creative Home Studio Inspiration{ Creative Home Office Inspiration via Country Living }

Just last July we went to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to cap off our series of travels this year. It was bittersweet because that’s where Siri-t (my iPad2 which was gifted last November 2011 by my B) got snatched by a riding in tandem modus. Shortly after we arrived back to Manila, I felt the strong urge to render my resignation, which I did. I have been pressured and stressed just staying in my previous work. Months and months passed as I was contemplating if resigning from my job was the right thing to do. The good relationships I’ve managed to build with my office mates were one of the reasons that kept me there, until I can no longer use that as an excuse to stop and hinder myself from restoring myself. For some reason that was what I felt – ineffectual and unskilled and I can no longer swallow that. But those were just sad stories of the past!

Fast forward to today – here are/were the good updates:

  1. Stitch came into my life! (my B replaced it two days after Siri-t got snatched *swoon*)
  2. Rendered 30-days at work and celebrated a couple of despedida dinners with friends and I’m just so touched.
  3. Last Friday was my last day at work – no more routine schedule!
  4. Celebrated freedom in our hotel getaway here
  5. Today marks the third day out of office and I feel fine!
  6. Currently focusing on the businesses we are establishing and I am just thrilled
  7. Working on my blog backlogs (like the Vietnam trip and other out-of-town trips)
  8. …and my photo backlogs too!
  9. Loving online shopping

Playing Tourist in the City

Last March I gifted my B with Polaroid coupons and a hotel getaway is one of them. And since I recently quit my day job (more on that story soon), a hotel getaway sounds even more enticing.

Question: So what’s a girl to do after her last day at work?
Answer: Celebrate freedom!!! I invited my B, packed my bags, my curiosity and adventurousness and explored the city.

Day 1 Itinerary:
– Checked in at hotel
– Late lunch at Max’s
– Impromptu swimwear shopping (we forgot to pack!)
– Movie date, Bourne Legacy
– Grocery shopping
– BonChon dinner takeout

My favorite part of staying at a nice hotel is their buffet breakfast — this time we are eating at HEAT restaurant.

Sandwicheese

Final installment of food trippin’ in Katipunan — Sandwicheese!

Millie and Clang in Sandwicheese

Bannaple spawned a younger sibling right beside its first Katipunan branch called Sandwicheese. It’s a sandwich shop that serves sauces, salads and cheesy sandwiches at the most affordable price, ranging from Php90 – 170 a meal. You can choose from a variety of salad, veggie sandwich, fish sandwich or meat sandwich selections. They also serve interesting and refreshing beverages like dalandan passion slush, pretty green slush and Bannaple homemade brewed iced tea that range from Php60 – 80 per drink.

It’s along Katipunan, so parking might be a little difficult, but it will be worth it, you’ll see.

The Ambiance

Sandwicheese is a comfy corner with refreshing laid back ambiance. A sunroof covers the place, so the venue is bright and vibrant. The dining area isn’t big with just about 6 tables plus tables attached to the wall with high stools to cater to diners.

If you want to see how your salad or sandwich is prepared, you may take a peek at their open kitchen just right behind their counter.

The Food on Our Table

Chili and Cheese Nachos in Sandwicheese Php90

Since we are having a hard time choosing what to order from their wide selections of salads and sandwiches, I ordered this appetizer for starter. The tortilla chips were crisp with overflowing meaty sauce and melted cheese topped with Jalapeño. I love the bite of this spicy chili. It’s mouthwatering and it instantly whets our appetite.

Drippin' Roast Beef Sandwicheese Php160

This is their bestseller and so I must try it. I anticipated from the start that they have huge servings so I asked the attendant to serve it in half and the other half will be for my takeout. Its beef strips were juicy and the cheese made this sandwich so creamy and tasty.

Chicken Caesar Sandwicheese in half

Chicken Caesar Sandwicheese served in half because my food buddies, Clang and Millie also opted to share since their sandwiches servings here are huge and can be for sharing, depends on your tummy capacity.

I took a few bites and I loved the crunchiness of their breaded chicken, the flavor of bacon and it’s cheesiness, which all blended well together.

These are the looks and smiles of people with a happy tummy. We are indeed all happy campers with our last stop for the day. We are already planning our next food trippin’!

The Service

Their attendants were polite, enthusiastic and attentive. And although you may place your order while sitting down, you have to settle your bill at the counter, which we did right after we finish our meal.
