CATHY DOLL PHILIPPINES

Cathy Doll, Korean Beauty Products

I will be whacked if I say this, but I am lazy in putting sunscreen on my face on a daily basis. I’ve tried a handful of other products but they are all sticky, leaves a white cast and makes my face even more oily under makeup. I know I know, I should be scared of the UVAs and UVBs of the sun’s rays more than I should be scared of an oily T-zone BUT I haven’t found the one that my skin accepts.

I am reluctant to buy full-sized products because most often than not I end up not liking it, and just crowding the space of my drawer. That’s why SAMPLEROOM has always been my hero! This is the place to be for trying new products without the need to buy. Like they say, “Try before you buy!” is their motto. I’ve recently discovered these cute Korean skin and beauty products — Cathy Doll L-Glutathione Magic Cream and Cathy Doll Ready 2 White Milky Cream Pack. I’ve used them between 1-2 weeks before writing this review.

@jaycelleplayda: Don’t we all love products that work multitude of ways? I’ve recently tried Cathy Doll L-Glutathione Magic Cream when we went swimming. It’s the next level of sunscreen with a high SPF 50 PA+++ protecting skin from the sun and harmful UV rays plus it actually shields you from the heat because of its surprising cooling effect! It also instantly whitens my face. All this in just one application! Because of its light formulation and ability to instantly whitens, I’ve been using this as a substitute to my primer under make-up too. The pretty packaging is a major plus too! 💞

Will share my full review of these #Cathydoll products on the blog soon!

You can try them FOR FREE by getting samples from @SampleRoomPH. 🤗

Review: Cathy Doll L-Glutathione Magic Cream

Cathy Doll L-Glutathione Magic Cream

Packaging: It’s super cute and girly. I just find the tube-opening to be wide, but I’m reminded that you can also use this on your body, not just face. I’m also not into the removable cap, which is tiny and I might drop it and lose it at one point.

Texture: It’s smooth to apply, not sticky but can easily dry up and be absorbed by your skin fast so best to spread it immediately.

Overall: This cream contains L-Glutathione and SPF50 PA+++. It’s a sunscreen and whitening cream in one tube. Its high-definition UV protection and whitening ingredients immediately brightens your skin upon application. I noticed its intense cooling sensation too which literally saves you from the heat of the weather, even if you are indoors with no ac. I’m sure we all know too well the feeling of slapping a sunscreen on your face which sticks. You can literally feel that there’s something on the outer layer of your skin like a heavy barrier. Cathy Doll L-Glutathione Magic Cream is different. My face felt hydrated like the cream penetrated my skin layers, acting like a face moisturizer too.

Due to its light and non-sticky formulation, it’s acting as my face primer substitute on a daily basis. Imagine using just one product to hydrate, brighten, whiten and protect your skin — it’s truly a magic cream! I’m giving it five stars!

Cathy Doll Ready 2 White Milky Cream Pack

Packaging: It’s cute and clean-looking. It has the perfect size of tube-opening, dispensing only a little product for the face. Love the flip-top cap.

Texture: It’s smooth to apply on wet face.

Overall: I first tried this on my face with makeup on. It did not remove my makeup. I’m guilty to say that I love face wash that doubles up as a makeup remover (but I still use lip and eye makeup remover). I had to wash my makeup off with my usual face wash (anti-acne), and I used this as a complimentary wash. More like a face treat. It melts like butter as I massage it onto my face in circular motion. You’ll be surprised because it will instantly make your face whiter! I had to do a double take in the mirror when I saw my face haha. I rinsed thoroughly thinking the “whiter look” will be washed off, but no. My skin really looks whiter immediately. I only had to put a baby powder and I’m all set for a quick morning errand. Magic! So I have been using this every after washing my face as a complimentary face treat. I give this four stars!

Cathy Dolls has so much to offer, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of their products!

Both of these Cathy Doll goodies and more are available at SampleRoom! What are you waiting for? Try before you buy! *wink*

Pregnancy Diary: 34 Weeks and 4 Days (November 1)

Diary Entry | 28 October 2015

My first consultation at Shiphrah Bahay Paanakan! Since it’s located in Taytay Rizal and we live in Cavite City, we woke up and left really early like 5AM. We arrived past 7AM which is good because we were asked to be there by 8AM. When we got there, there were only 2 moms waiting. I was anxiously observing their “system”. I saw a record book with 2 categories: Graduate and Non-graduate, and I listed my name under Graduate not knowing exactly what are they referring to. Haha. Apparently Graduate category is for those moms who are finished with Shiphrah’s 10 seminars. So I quickly changed my listing to Non-Graduate.

There’s a lot of waiting time and we’re clueless as to how our visit there would pan out. At around 830AM, the 2 moms who I first met asked us to go to the seminar area. Apparently there’s a bible study first before the seminar. We patiently sat down and listened although good thing I personally didn’t feel violated about this. Right after the bible study, one midwife — Ate Belle, greeted us, who will conduct the seminar.

It’s the batch’s 5th seminar and it’s only our first! It’s the perfect timing though because the seminar topic is childbirth! During the seminar there’s this foreigner photographer/videographer who was covering the talk and the attendees. We were in front so I’m pretty sure we were captured on film for the most part. After the seminar, non-graduates were asked to go inside to lineup for our prenatal checkup.

November Beginnings

Christmas Toy Soldier

Christmas Toy Soldier

There’s always something special at the beginning of a month, much more so if you are an avid fan of the ber months like me. Due to my hectic lifestyle and some annoying pregnancy symptoms, I was not able to “celebrate” the arrival of September. Even then, I am determined to welcome my most favorite month of all, November.

A lot of occasions are in store for us starting this month onwards.

My November Affairs

2nd year wedding anniversary. I could not believe it’s already been 2 years! All of our milestones happened during November in the past years — 2012: Husband proposed to me on my birthday; 2013: We tied knot; 2014: We celebrated our first year wedding anniversary; and this 2015: I might give birth to our firstborn. *my heart melts*

1st public speaking engagement. I was recently invited by a huge hospital to talk about “positively embracing pregnancy”. The doctor who organizes these events for moms saw my blog articles documenting my pregnancy journey and said she got inspired. I am beyond nervous and ecstatic! I need to focus on creating my talk outline to ensure that I only share the best tips or lessons I gathered for the past 8 months of pregnancy!

Thanksgiving birthday. I am not the type to throw a birthday party for myself, but this year is an exception. It’s still not going to be a big party, but I am planning for an intimate gathering of families and friends whom I am thankful for.

Baby shower or welcome baby shower (if baby’s already born in this world!), which will coincide with my Thanksgiving birthday! We are planning a special little shower for our baby in the company of both our families and closest friends.

With that said, I cannot hide my excitement!!! I have been Pinterest-ing for the past couple of days and it’s time to try and make my vision a reality. *hopeful smiles*

Diary Entry | 24 October 2015

As I was browsing “Gentle Birth Philippines” FB group, I came across this topic about this famous birthing house called “Shiphrah Bahay Paanakan”. Mommies who gave birth there were raving about it so much that it piqued my interest, so I started researching about it.

On my Google search, I found a blog post that started it all. After reading that mom’s gentle birth experience, I felt a calling that THIS is also how I want my own birth experience to be. Her words are so powerful and resonated with me deeply. I eagerly searched for Shiphrah’s contact details to find out if they can still accept me even if I’m already on my last trimester. I anxiously called and spoke to one of the midwives. She advised me to pay a visit the following Wednesday. I was asked to bring all my prenatal medical records. I felt a bit excited. It felt as if I’m entering a whole new world, a new territory.

Diary Entry | 23 October 2015

Changing from one sleeping position to the next is a challenge with my heavy bump and aches of my bones.

This is such a trying and emotional time for me. I haven’t been well for about three days now and husband and I haven’t been sleeping well for two days now because of the many arguments we engaged in.

We sleep without patching things up. Not our agreed upon relationship habits. *cry emoticon*

baby’s size:

Three chocolate croissants

my mood:

It’s been a roller coaster week. Ever since the seed of gentle birthing was planted in my head, I have been researching like crazy!

my symptoms:

Pelvic girdle pain. This is very common especially in the last trimester. Good thing mine is a minor ache — a few twinges, a general feeling of heaviness and stress in my pelvic region.

Shortness of breath. My technique here? Proper posture. It gives my lungs a little more room to breathe, literally.

Tender breasts. Look but don’t touch, darling. Haha!

Tingling hands / carpal tunnel. Very common in many expecting women especially those who work at computers.

Leg cramps. Tip: Straighten your leg and gently flex your ankle and toes back toward your shins several times.

Swelling. Yup, I have fatter feet in the evening.

Backaches. I avoided lifting heavy loads, or I do it slowly. Better safe than sorry.

Abdominal ache and pain. I experience “growing pains” around my middle tummy area.

Uterine tenderness. It’s a feeling of soreness in my womb.

Constipation. I need to increase my fiber intake. Maybe 2 pears a day?

Hey baby,

Your kicks are getting stronger and stronger. Mommy might feel pain, but as long as you’re growing and developing well in my belly, it’s all worth it. Mommy and daddy love you so much! 💕

Love,

Your momma Jaycelle

Diary Entry | 19 October 2015

I was chatting with my ex-colleagues about pregnancy, breastfeeding and motherhood. This is when the seed of gentle birth was planted in my head. My friend specifically advice me to OWN MY BIRTH. She also asked me to join this Facebook group called “Gentle Birth Philippines”. That same night I requested to join the group, little did I know that it’s going to be the start of my more meaningful pregnancy journey.

baby’s size:

Pain d’epi

my mood:

For some weird reason, my fondness for my B is turning to annoyance. Sorry, B. Although I also don’t like this feeling so I am hoping that I resolve whatever it is that’s bugging me and start being fond of him again.

my symptoms:

Tender breasts. They’re getting bigger and heavier, and super tender!

Numbness / tingling. This pins-and-needles feeling usually happens in the morning, as soon as I wake up, I can feel it in my hands.

Leg cramps. This annoying symptom is becoming a regular every morning. One time my subconscious event know that I will feel the cramps so I immediately know what to do even if I just woke up.

Shortness of breath. It looks like baby is crowding my lungs so much!

Swelling. Even though I am sleeping with my feet elevated, this does not seem to go away. I guess I really have to buy a bigger pair of shoes, aside from wearing my Birks.

Abdominal pelvic cramping. This felt like I’m having dysmenorrhea.

Heartburn.
