My (more than) Top 5 Occasions That Call for Food Delivery

Food has always been a special part of my childhood, adulthood, now preggy-hood — that’s basically my whole life existence. Growing up at home with my family, preparing food seemed like a breeze because mom was always there to cook it for you. Ever since I started living independently, I managed to 1) learn few dishes I now call my “signature” dishes and 2) learn to cook for two.

With a hectic and active lifestyle as a pregnant career woman and work-at-home-mom (to be), it’s not always an enticing idea to do grocery or market-shopping much more so to cook. That’s when food delivery comes in as heaven-sent!

Here are my top 8 occasions that call for food delivery:

Ho Chai Lai

Ho Chai Lai Food ||| Photos by: Brian Sahagun

Sometimes in this independent life we try to live not to mention being a foodie pregnant, I get food cravings here and there that not even my attempt to cook nor my cry for help will alleviate. Living in a small city that is far from the usual malls and restaurants I am used to, also does not help. That’s why I feel so relieved and happy that there is this one restaurant that popped up near our area. It’s called Ho Chai Lai. I believe it’s got branches in other areas and it’s just good of them to branch out here in Cavite.

Spiral at Sofitel Manila

Giddy and happy here with my forever date, my darling B.

We managed to squeeze in a whole day of foodie adventure in celebration of our halfway pregnancy mark! Starting it off with a breakfast buffet at Spiral Restaurant in Sofitel Manila, lunch at Jatujak in MOA, and creamy halo-halo at Razon’s MOA.

La Boulangerie of Spiral

Follow the smell of warm and freshly baked baguettes, pain au chocolat, croissants and you will end up at the La Boulangerie of Spiral. Choose from a wide selection of freshly baked, hand rolled creations and delight in healthy choices such as rye and gluten free breads.

Enjoying my chocolate croissant.

If only I can eat more than one chocolate croissant, I would be in bread heaven! But since too much sweets are not advisable for preggy momma like me, I asked B to take me out on another date here once I’ve given birth. *teehee*

Gourmet Fair

We chanced upon a gourmet food fair at Gateway Activity Area and wandered around the area to see what will pique our interest. There’s a lot actually — like this flavored chocolates with personalized wrappers. I think it’s the perfect giveaway to any party.

But what excites me with these kinds of food fair is the chance to discover local food and desserts shop. In the end, we decided to take home MedChef‘s revel bar (3pcs for Php100). #supportlocal

St. Nicholas Restaurant

I had the privilege to visit a newly-opened dining place in Mandaluyong’s which offers sweet and savory dishes at a very affordable price, St. Nicholas. It was a nice and complete dining experience as the chef and restaurateur, Nick Pelaez, shared the history behind his restaurant, the inspiration behind its eclectic ambiance and the delectable dishes served generously to us.

St. Nicholas started as a catering service for 10 years before they gave in to customers’ demand to make it into a restaurant which opened just last April which they can visit anytime they crave for good food, good service at a good rate.
