Banapple

After our airport-hospital-airport errand we did for future sis-in-law last March 23, B decided to treat me at one of our comfort-food-fave-hang-out-place — Banapple in Katipunan. We have frequented this place (and the other branch, also in Katipunan) for the last few years but this is my first time to blog about it. So here’s a photoblog to honor this pretty little quaint place that is dear to our hearts.

*This also marked the start of my fasting, which I aimed to do for at least a week.

I love my usual order of Baked Creamy Cheese Penne and the pesto bread included. It’s meaty and cheesy but I noticed that it produced a lot of oil. B thought maybe it was heated through microwave that’s why the beef secreted major major oil produce. Nonetheless, it’s my no-fail all-time Banapple comfort food.

Let’s talk about desserts. I love love love their cheesecake desserts! Their Snickers Fudge Cheesecake was a hit to me and B. I usually order their Blueberry Cheesecake but I have to resolve ordering something new every time we visit so that I can explore other taste and I can share with you, or maybe you can share with me your Banapple favorite, yeah? *nom nom*

Thanks to my B for the deliciously looking photos! *wink*

Park date + Cafe Sweet Inspirations

Happy Easter, everyone! Hope your new beginning is a beautiful one.

UP Park

B and I spent our Holy Week inside our apt in the Metro and last Holy Monday I started with my fasting.

Come Saturday night, we just felt the urge to go out and do our “wedding talk-ing” in the park. We forgot how beautiful the parks are — the greeneries, the trees, the flowers and all the works! We were reminded how good it feels to just hang out, smell the fresh air and just be reunited with nature.

And… after a total of six days, I decided to break my fast last Black Saturday.

A new restaurant was our goal destination for Black Saturday dinner so we tried out Cafe Sweet Inspirations along Katipunan Ave.

Overall, this place is cozy, reminded me of TOSH with the dim lights and homey-feel type of resto. The food was just OK — simple, straight to the point and true to its taste but nothing too good to rave about though.

About my supposedly sweet treat — considering they call themselves a cafe and bakeshop, they used poor quality cream cheese for this dessert. I don’t recommend this BUT maybe their other cake slices and desserts are worth a try so I would still go back and try them out.

Thanks to my B for these ah-mazing photos, as usual.

Continuation of food trippin’ in KatipunanNext stop — Manila Bake!

Manila Bake{ Manila Bake by Serye Cafe Filipino }

I have always enjoyed eating breads, guess I got it from my mom who is into pastries and breads more than anything. It excites me to know that there is a new bakeshop that sprung along Katipunan Avenue with the strip of other restaurants, cafes, bakeshops, dessert places and so much more.

More reasons to be excited about are their other offerings aside from their bunch of breads.

Manila Bake goodies{ Local produce milks, cheeses, yogurts, and other dairy products }

Manila Bake goodies{ Different coffee flavors — Kapeng Barako, Arabica, Decaf, Peaberry Blend, House Blend Espresso; loaves of bread, bread sticks, brownies, coco powder, sweet treats like Espasol de Leche and Pastillas de Leche and red rice }

You will also find modern kinds of coffee maker like — Coffee Syphon, French Press and Mokka Press or the more traditional or old-school type like this Chokolatera and Wooden Batirol. And coffee lovers are not the only ones who will find something to suit their discerning taste because tea lovers would also find different tea leaves packed in cute bottles plus personal tea makers.

Bread lovers who like it extra special may find the spread of their choice — Bottled Tsokolate, Coco Jam and Guava Jelly.

And last but not the least, their offerings would not be complete without products from their mother company, Serye Cafe Filipino — like their Bagoong, Atchara, Java Sauce and Gourmet Tuyo. Yum yum yum! A lot of little extras you can take home to your loved ones!

And the star of this bakeshop — their spread of breads and pastries!

And because this is a bakeshop, I was expecting a little more than what they are currently offering. I’m hoping that they would offer more types of bread and baked goodies, as their name suggests  though it’s understandable since they just opened recently. Let’s hope they will improve their selections and we, bread lovers, would be happy as can be.

What happens when you have not seen your good friends… on a rainy day and you’re craving something yummy… and knowing you have missed a lot of new eats???

Answer: An afternoon full of impromptu food trippin’ along Katipunan!!!

First stop — Raintree Teaspresso Blends

French Macarons price list

“Excited” is an understatement of how I truly feel knowing that more and more cafes and even restaurants are offering this pretty treat — French Macarons! More and more flavors are coming out of the market and I’m ecstatic with the thought that I will try and complete all flavors being offered on the face of the earth!

Cupcakes and French Macarons

It was a rainy day and most school classes were suspended. It only means a jam-packed cafe and less food on display like these cupcakes and French Macarons.

My favorite Red Velvet cupcake and most of the other macaron flavors were sold out so I opted to take out their First Kiss cupcake at Php60 and Nutella Rocks at Php45.

I will go back when all their French Macarons are available and I will revel in them on one hand and a cup of their freshly brewed tea on the other hand.

Saturday church and thrifting

Entry Comments Actions

Saturday morning was dedicated to visit the church and say our prayers. It has been years since I went to church with Brian and I am just so happy to be going with him. I truly believe that we need Him at the center of our lives. And I find peace going to church and just lifting it all up to Him.

Tons of photos from our weekend.
